Episode 1.1: Unity has a Common, unsurpassed Goal
Scripture: Psalm 133
The Focus: Yet were so different as God attended it to be, but we still function as a body of one.
1. THE PURPOSE OF UNITY (Psalm 133:1). Its when many come together, with our different skills to act as one group... one that moves, and functions with a common goal. We are ALL different, so agreeing isn't going to be 100% because we have our own ideas, opinion and preferences of how or what some things should be done. But in the end we gather together to make one more step closer towards that common goal.
"How good and pleasent it is" when their is unity in God's house... we come together in worship, prayer and in our devotion. We aere able to reach and teach the gospel to our surroundings near and far!
2. ONE LUXURY = ONE BODY (Psalm 133:2-3). "It is like precious oil poured on the head..." which than was a luxury to have oil, used to clean the body and washing their guests feet. This is a moment where the people, the church is in harmony, something that money nor harden hearts could produce in the body. If we are in unity, then we should give praise to God for the body coming together so different yet in someways the same... become more like Christ. "the LORD bestows his blessing..." he gives as a gift His blessing, to help the church become more of a light house to its surroundings.
Psalm 133
How good pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
